  • Aerial view of an intimate cocktail reception on a private Bangkok rooftop at blue hour, candle-lit low tables, string lights, a string trio, the Mahanakhon skyline behind.
  • Three private event staff in pressed black uniforms preparing a private dining room — one places menu cards, one polishes a wine glass, one lights a tall taper candle.
  • Wide interior view of a Bangkok brand-launch evening in a converted warehouse loft — curved white-lacquer bar, brass pendants, dramatic floral installation, eighty guests in cocktail attire.
  • Private pool-villa dinner in Bangkok at twilight — long teak table for fourteen under canopy of globe lights, white orchids and ferns down the centre, the lit infinity pool reflecting candlelight.
  • Overhead detail of a single luxury place setting — calligraphed menu card on cream cardstock with black silk ribbon, polished silver charger, white napkin, sprig of rosemary, white orchid.

You hand Lara the date, the headcount, and the feeling. She returns the venue, the menu, the music, and the floor plan.

The Lara difference

Why this is rarely done well.

The Bangkok event market is a relay race of subcontractors — venue takes a cut, planner takes a cut, florist takes a cut, none of them know each other. The tasting is with one chef, the night belongs to another. The first version of the floor plan goes to the production team a week before the event.

Lara holds her own roster — five Bangkok rooftop venues, three private villas, two warehouse spaces, a river barge, and the chefs, florists and DJs who already know each other's rhythm. She walks the venue with you, briefs the chef in the kitchen, signs the music rider personally, and stands at the door on the night.

The founder marking a fortieth with sixty friends and a chef from her favourite Soho house. The brand launching a watch in Bangkok to two hundred press without a hotel ballroom. The family bringing thirty cousins to a Phuket compound for a long weekend that needs to feel composed.

Common questions

The quiet answers.

  • What size events do you take on?

Comfortable from twenty guests to two hundred. Below twenty, a private dining room or villa dinner is usually the better answer. Above two hundred, Lara still says yes — she has staged a 350-guest brand launch — but the timeline lengthens.

  • How far in advance should we brief you?

Six to eight weeks is comfortable for a 50-guest dinner; ten to twelve for a brand launch or wedding-eve. Lara has rescued briefs at four days' notice — venue and chef both — but it costs more and limits choice.

  • Do you charge a planning fee or take supplier commission?

A flat planning fee, agreed up front, scaled to event complexity. No supplier commission, no margin loaded onto the chef or florist invoices. You see every line item at quotation stage.

  • Can you handle the guest list and door — quietly?

Yes. RSVP management, arrival lists, plus-one screening, and a host at the door who knows the names. For sensitive guest lists, Lara also briefs licensed close-protection officers in plain clothes.
